One of the nice things about visiting Port Angeles is that summer is so constructed that one can go outside most of the time. Not so much when the weather is like it is today, because it's cold and damp, but there's a lot of "sunny" weather, when there are no clouds and the temperature inches towards 70 degrees. It doesn't get there, mind you, but it inches towards it.
And in this lovely weather, one can take the baby outside and let her explore the natural world.
Sometimes her response is abject terror.
Sometimes she's just bored.
(Also, notice that she's making her duck face; she does that a lot).
Sometimes she decides to explore nature in a hands- or mouth-on sort of way.
And this is the look her mother gets when she asks her to stop.
Filial respect is not her thing at this point in her life.
