So babies, as you may have noticed, waft through life joyfully unconcerned with how they are presenting themselves to the world. And they have these beautiful expressions of joy that are wonderful to behold.
And then they become toddlers, and figure out what you’re doing when you go to take a picture of them, and they want the picture to be good, so they “smile.”
Unfortunately, they haven’t really gotten the hang of it, so it looks kind of funny. More like baring their teeth and growling.
Ah well, she’ll figure it out one of these days.
