No More Mummy Baby

My mother doesn’t like swaddling, because she thinks that it makes babies look like mummies.  I like swaddling, because it means that the baby doesn’t hit herself in the face and wake up the entire household as she screams about the injustice of a world where she has arms.

But, sadly, all go0d things must come to an end.  Tempus edax, and so forth.  And this weekend, since I had a 4-day weekend, we decided that it was a good time to unbind Ellie’s arms.

And it worked, more or less.  I mean, she didn’t wake up THAT much more than she usually does, and though she was somewhat harder to get back to sleep (the arms, they hit!), she did eventually go.

And she certainly didn’t look like a mummy.

Of course, every so often she got herself somewhat entwined in  the crib, but we dealt with that.

Also, for those of you who were wondering, Margaret continues to sleep without hitting herself in the face too much.

Also, she likes to cuddle up to her books at night.
