Waiting for Godot

Ellie is becoming a devotee of 20th century absurdist drama.

Well, that may be overstating the case.

But she has developed a love of waiting that far outstrips her need for waiting.  When we go and pick Margaret up, she insists on "sitting on the step" (which is really the window ledge of the basement) before she can be put in the car.

The important thing is that she insists on waiting for something that is never going to arrive, and is more or less unwilling to get into the car without some period of waiting.

Luckily, she can be trusted to wait while I put Margaret in the car.

  1. As annoying as this may be for you, I don't think you should discourage it. It will serve her very well later in life. Particularly at the DMV :)
