Though I haven’t been posting the pictures as often, Margaret still loves to hold Ellie on her lap, and hold her hand, and talk to her, and enumerate her fingers and toes (which is really quite interesting since recently she’s taken to counting 1-2-5-7-8-7-8-9).
We have been using a pillow to cushion Ellie* and hovering. But Ellie has been deciding that she DOES NOT WANT to be lying down if there’s nothing going on above her, and so we altered the arrangement.
Ellie thinks it’s pretty awesome.
Margaret is a little more relaxed about the whole thing.
And then Ellie discovered that Margaret had EDIBLE THUMBS and her cup runneth over.**
And then, after Ellie went away for a diaper and costume change, Margaret proved she was really a sister to be cherished and cultivated by giving Ellie a massage.
Ellie gives this lap two thumbs up, and would return if people put her there, because honestly, she doesn’t have much of a choice these days.
*Margaret makes a firm distinction between pillows and cushions, though, and would no doubt object to that formulation if she could read.
**By “cup” we mean “mouth,” because when she’s chewing on something, she’s a drooly little person.
