This year, I managed to take pictures of Easter. Go me.
And I entered the difficult phase of trying to get a good picture of two people who don’t care about pictures. I think I need to learn about photoshop, and graft some heads. I mean, here’s a good picture of Ellie smiling, but Margaret is hiding under her hat and inspecting Ellie’s shoes.
Here at least they’re both looking more or less camera-wards. Though the somewhat fixed expressions make them look more Victorian than is strictly necessary.
Of course, here it looks like Margaret is explaining things to Ellie in a big-sisterly fashion.
Ellie seems suitably astonished. Of course, she seems equally astonished to get a big hug. It may have just been the default expression for today.
And here it looks like Margaret is asking Ellie where she got that wonderful hat.
Although sometimes Ellie does take a moment to gaze off into the distance and think great thoughts.
And sometimes she just looks sweet.
After the photo session, we took the kids out in the backyard for a brief Easter egg hunt. Ellie just kind of lazed around.
But Margaret worked very hard getting her eggs.
And then all the eggs were found, and it was time to figure out what was inside them. Daddy helped.
A cucumber!
Goody! We haven’t bothered to tell her that Easter has a candy component. I’m sure she’ll figure that out next year. So she played with her vegetables.
And guarded her plastic eggs very closely.
And tried to organize a breakout from the yard for some of the eggs. Because when you love something, you have to let it go. And she loves those eggs.
Run free, little eggies! Run free.
