Not Regression, But Comfort

Margaret really hasn’t regressed all that much with the introduction of Ellie into the household.  She occasionally takes a pacifier and sticks it in her mouth, but given that she gave them up herself in the first year of life when she discovered that they were a promise without performance, she gets bored and spits them out pretty quickly.  And when she has them in, it’s with a very “look at me; isn’t this funny?” sort of expression on her face.  And she is interested in Ellie’s cloth diapers, which is good, because we don’t have any more of her diapers in the house, so she’s going to get put in one the next time we need to change her diaper.

But she does like Ellie’s car seat.  Not in the car, mind you, but when it’s sitting around in the house.  Or – as is the case in the picture – in other people’s houses.

M – though in motion – gave a suitably derisive look to this seating arrangement.

But I imagine that it is pretty pleasant. It’s all padded, and if you’re big enough – but not too big – you can make it rock back and forth, and there are nice blankets to spread over your lap to keep you warm.  Who could ask for anything more?
