We’ve been encouraging Margaret to play all sorts of ball-related sports outside, but we’ve been trying to teach her the rules, because we don’t want our back yard degenerating into Calvinball-type madness.
Anyway, we’re trying to avoid that sort of madness. The transmogrification was bad enough.
So we’re teaching how you actually play.
And then she tries it on her own. It’s a work in progress, but she’s getting it.
Though she needs to keep both hands on the bat.
And she’s getting a handle on soccer.
Handle sometimes more literally than is absolutely necessary.
And she’s learning important things about cars and rolling and losing balls.
I think we’ll wait a little bit on croquet, though. I don’t think she needs a mallet just yet.
